KALAMAZOO--Prospective graduate
students are invited to expand their horizons by attending Western
Michigan University's fall Graduate Program Open House Thursday,
Oct. 22.
The free event will take place from
3:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the North Ballroom of the Bernhard Center on the
main campus in Kalamazoo. A special workshop on the graduate
application process has been set for 5:30 to 6:15 p.m. in Room 213
Bernhard Center. No pre-registration is required for the workshop,
which will cover the steps for enrolling in graduate study at WMU.
The
annual fall open house is an opportunity to learn about the many
graduate programs the University offers in Kalamazoo as well as its
regional sites in Battle Creek, Benton Harbor-St. Joseph, Grand Rapids,
Lansing, Muskegon and Traverse City.
Attendees will be able
to talk with representatives from those academic programs as well as
service units such as the Graduate College, which is sponsoring the
event; Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships; and University
Counseling and Testing Center. Refreshments will be served.
The
open house is for working professionals, undergraduate students and
others who are considering furthering their educations. It is
especially helpful for those interested in multiple programs or
undecided about a program, and those wishing to meet with faculty
members who are conducting research or providing professional training
in today's important fields.
WMU offers a wide range of
graduate and professional programs, including 29 doctoral degrees,
67 master's degrees and graduate certificates in alcohol and drug
abuse, educational technology, ethnohistory, health care
administration, holistic health care, and nonprofit leadership and
administration.
Free parking for open house
attendees will be available in Parking Structure No. 1 at the corner of
West Michigan Avenue and North Dormitory Road.
