'Goodbye Solo' debuts at Little Theatre

KALAMAZOO--Kalamazoo Film Society presents "Goodbye Solo" Friday
through Sunday, Aug. 14-16, in the Little Theatre at Western Michigan
University.
Show times are 7 and 9:30 p.m. Friday; 4:30, 7 and 9:30 p.m. Saturday; and 3, 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday. Admission is $5.
This touching story of life and death begins in Winston-Salem, N.C.,
where a Senegalese taxi driver picks up an elderly man. When it turns
out that his fare wants to be driven to the top of a mountain to commit
suicide, the driver takes it upon himself to intervene. As the two men
with vastly different backgrounds make an emotional connection, both
lives are forever changed.
Directed by Ramin Bahrani, the 2008 film is shown in English, French
and Wolof with English subtitles. It has a run time of 91 minutes and
is rated R for offensive language.

The Little Theatre is located at the corner of Oakland Drive and
Oliver Lane on WMU's East Campus. Free off-street parking is available
behind the theatre.
