Russian Festival 2009
November 14 - 21

Week of Russian Events,  leading up to another great day of the 14th. Annual  "Russian Festival."   A family event showcasing all things Russian.
 
November 14 - 8 p.m.  Pushkin University Choir Concert- Kalamazoo First Congregational Church - corner of Michigan Ave. and Park St. -reception.  Tickets may be purchased through Miller Ticket Office - 269-387-2300 Adult $15-  Senior $12- Student $5  In collaboration with the Michigan Festival of Sacred Music, www.mfsm.us

November 16 – 7:00 p.m. Pushkin University Choir will appear live on The Keith Roe Program - Kalamazoo Community Cable Access Center. 

November 18– 1:00  p.m.  Convocation – Pushkin University Choir with Victoria Evtodieva,  Soprano – WMU Dalton Center – Recital Hall - free event.
 
November 18– 8:15 p.m  Victoria Evtodieva,  Soprano & Dmitry Chasovitin, Pianist–from The Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory of Music,St. Petersburg, Russia - WMU  Dalton Center – Recital Hall  -   free event.
 
November 19 – 6 p.m.,  Robert Alexander –Author,  Discussion of book “Kitchen Boy”, free event- Brown Hall -WMU–, reception to follow, Kazoo books will be present with copies of Alexander’s books
 
November 20 – 12 noon to 1:30 p.m.– Robert Alexander – Stuart Manor, Celery Flats, Portage – High Tea – Discussion of  “Rasputin’s Daughter”, $18 person, limit 30 people, reservations made through Portage District Library,  call 329-4522 or www.portagemi.gov.
 
November 20 – Reception with lite refreshments for the Pushkin Choir, host families, and Partnership Members with mayor and city officials at Kalamazoo City Hall – 5:30 to 7 p.m. Gifts & proclamations to be given.
 
November 21 -" Russian To The Festival" – Fetzer Center –WMU – 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Everything Russian: Art, Music, Food, Vendors, Drama, Dancing, Academia,Silent Auction, and Chess playing.
